- What is it for?
A Short-Term Scientific Mission is a research visit of at least five working days to a host organisation, focused on carrying out specific research work within the scope of COS-MICs. It is ideal for working closely with other researchers, developing new skills, or accessing specific resources. - Where?
Anywhere in the world, provided that the host institution is located in a country different from that of the applicant’s affiliation. - Who can apply?
Researchers affiliated with institutions in COST Member Countries or Near Neighbour Countries (NNCs). - Funding
Up to €4,000, as a contribution towards travel and subsistence costs. STSM grantees may request up to 50% pre-payment of the approved grant, subject to the availability of funds and approval by the Grant Holder Institution. - What you need to apply (using the official COS-MICs templates below)
– A completed STSM application form, using the official COS-MICs template.
– Confirmation from the host institution agreeing to receive you. - What you need after the activity
A scientific report following the COS-MICs template describing the work carried out, the main achievements, the contribution to the Action, and – any planned follow-up activities.
